Amy T. Briggs
Ms. Briggs has more than twenty years experience in legal career counseling, law school administration and large law firm recruiting and training. She is an expert in assisting attorneys in the self assessment and career exploration process. With extensive experience in both the law firm and law school recruiting and training processes, Ms. Briggs brings a unique perspective to the counseling relationship. She specializes in the administration and interpretation of career assessment inventories, including the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the Strong Interest Inventory.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERTISE
Ms. Briggs was associated with leading law schools and large law firms in the Washington, D.C. area before she founded Briggs & Nash and began her own successful consulting practice. For more than twenty years, she has worked closely with lawyers and law students on all aspects of the job search and career decision-making process. She directed law school recruiting programs that included the full range of legal employers. As the director of a large law firm recruiting and training office, she oversaw the recruiting and hiring of lawyers as well as offered training workshops for staff, summer associates and junior attorneys. Ms. Briggs has also designed and presented workshops and seminars to local and national audiences on career related topics such as communications, presentation skills, team building and management development.

BUSINESS EXPERIENCE
Prior to joining Shannon & Manch, L.L.P, Ms. Briggs was a name partner in Briggs and Nash, a professional development consulting firm and principal with Amy T. Briggs Consulting. Her academic career included positions as Director of Career Services at The Columbus School of Law, The Catholic University of America and at The George Mason University School of Law. Her law firm experience includes Director of Legal Recruiting and Training at the D.C. office of a top law firm.
PUBLICATIONS
Ms. Briggs has authored numerous articles, chapters and books on a variety of topics relevant to the legal career counseling and recruiting field. Her first book, Degrees of Difference: A How-To Guide to Choosing a Law School, (NALP) was published in 1998.
