| Amy Berenson Mallow is the Managing Director of the West Coast office of Shannon & Manch. She has eighteen years of experience in the lawyer career development field and has practiced law in both the public and private sectors. Amy has extensive experience working one-on-one in a coaching capacity with lawyers nationally and internationally at all levels of practice on topics including time management, communication, leadership and team building, meeting competencies and enhancing confidence. Amy also specializes in career planning and career transitions and helps clients effectively meet career-related goals. She advises on all aspects of the job search process including career options, strategy, resume and cover letter preparation, interviewing, creating business development plans and offer negotiation. Amy has consulted with firms in maximizing talent development, including conducting firm focus groups and upward reviews. She has presented career development workshops addressing such areas as reinvigorating professional satisfaction, career advancement for women, interviewing skills and effective job search strategies. Before opening the West Coast office of Shannon & Manch, Amy spent nine years as an Assistant Dean for Career Services at UCLA School of Law where she managed the office, counseled law students and alumni and worked with employers to maximize the effectiveness of their recruiting efforts. She was also an Assistant Director in the Office of Career Services at Georgetown University Law Center. Amy practiced law as an associate at Kirkland & Ellis and was a staff attorney in the Enforcement Division of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Just prior to joining Shannon & Manch, Amy founded MallowSossin LLC, her own legal consulting and recruiting business. She is a graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center and Franklin & Marshall College. Amy has conducted presentations for local and national groups including The Association for Legal Career Professionals (NALP), the Professional Development Institute, the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles, the Lawyers Club of San Diego and the Los Angeles, Bay Area and Orange County Legal Recruitment Associations. She has published articles in the National Law Journal and the NALP Bulletin and is co-author of several chapters in the THE Lawyer's Career Management Handbook: Your Bridge to a Satisfying Career (West Publishing, 2010). Amy is certified in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator®, and has completed coursework in coaching through the Coaches Training Institute and the American Society for Training and Development. Amy is a member of the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles, the American Bar Association, the District of Columbia Bar, and the American Society for Training and Development. |
