Steve Armstrong (Armstrong Talent) has led professional development and talent-management programs at major law firms for more than 20 years. During that time, he has guided firms to think strategically about managing their talent, has taught programs on managerial and leadership skills, and has designed and implemented a wide range of programs and policies. These have included training curricula, mentoring programs, evaluation and compensation systems, leadership development programs, diversity initiatives, work-life balance programs, associate surveys, and "upward" evaluations. He has published and spoken widely on the topic of talent management, and has served as chair of the Professional Development Consortium, the professional organization for in-house legal educators, and as co-chair of the ABA Committee on Business Law Education. Most recently, he has been Director of Career Development for WilmerHale. Previously, he was the Director of Professional Development at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison and at Shearman & Sterling.
For more than 20 years, he has also taught writing programs for lawyers in the U.S. and Canada and for federal and state judges. With Professor Timothy P. Terrell, he is the co-author of Thinking Like a Writer: A Lawyer's Guide to Effective Writing and Editing (3rd edition, 2008, Practicing Law Institute).

Terri Mottershead

Terri Mottershead is the founding Principal of Mottershead Consulting. She brings more than 26 years of experience in international law practice, legal institution building, talent management, organizational development, stakeholder engagement and consensus building, consulting, legal education and training to her consulting work.
Terri has worked in-house in attorney talent management, practiced law in Australia and Hong Kong (corporate/commercial and environmental law), and was a law school academic and consultant in Hong Kong. She has extensive experience working with senior management and law firm stakeholders in strategically aligning and successfully implementing talent management goals that support business performance goals. Terri has designed governance structures for, led and implemented talent functions and initiatives in, strategic planning; marketing and communication strategies and plans; support systems, databases, processes, policies and protocols; budgeting; staff selection, management and retention (including onboarding and secondments); ROI metrics; organization change; stakeholder engagement and consensus building. Terri is frequently asked to present and consult nationally and internationally on all aspects of attorney talent management. She also has extensive experience in the planning, preparation, design, delivery and evaluation of tailor made training courses for lawyers, in-house counsel, law firm clients, government, non-government and industry groups, academic institutions and Law Societies/Bar Associations. These courses variably focused on substantive law topics, legal skills and law firm/department management. Terri has also worked extensively with these stakeholders in the areas of benchmarks and competencies; mentoring and coaching; feedback and performance evaluation; performance management; and career development.
Terri has served on more than 50 Boards and Committees. She currently serves or has most recently served as the Vice-President and a member of the Professional Development Consortium Board; the National Institute for Trail Advocacy (NITA) Law Firm Advisory Council; the Junior Achievement of the Bay Area, Inc. San Francisco Advisory Board; for the Law Society of Hong Kong, Member of the Trainee Solicitors Committee, the Legal Education Committee, the Foreign Lawyers' Admission Examination Panel in 'Commercial and Company Law Panel', the CLE Accreditation Sub-Committee, and the Law Society of Hong Kong's Representative on the PCLL Academic Board for the University of Hong Kong. She has also served on the Board of the Queensland Ballet Company (Australia); and been a Member of the Legal Committee of the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong; Member of the Companies Committee of the Business Law Section of the Law Council of Australia; Affiliate Member of the Securities Institute of Australia; Founding Member and Member of the Executive Committee of the Hong Kong Environmental Law Association; Co-Founder and Chair of the Hong Kong Sustainable Development Forum; Council Member and Officer of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association; Vice President of the Queensland Women Lawyers Association (Australia); and President of the Women's Better Business Inc. (Queensland, Australia).
Terri holds a Bachelor of Laws (with honours) and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice both from the Queensland Institute of Technology in Australia; a Master of Laws from the University of Queensland in Australia; and a Master of Business Administration (with distinction) from the University of Wales. She is admitted to practice law in Australia, England and Wales and Hong Kong. Terri practised mainly in the areas of corporate/commercial and environmental law in Australia and Hong Kong. She is also MBTI (APT Qualifying Training Program, 22-24 & 27 October 2003), MBTI Step II EIR and FIRO-B accredited. Terri is an award winning teacher. She has delivered over 80 invited presentations in 12 different countries and published more than 30 articles on substantive law, legal skills, the legal industry, and various aspects of law firm talent management.

Lynne Simoneau Coonan

Lynne has almost fifteen years of experience in the field of attorney employment. Lynne's background includes lateral attorney hiring with national, international, and boutique law firms at the associate and partner level and for in-house counsel positions with corporations. Lynne founded her own search firm with an emphasis on the law firm market and in-house positions. Previously, she worked in the Palo Alto office of a legal search firm, as well as in the D.C. office of a national legal recruitment company that focused on placing experienced temporary attorneys. Lynne is a former Director of Legal Career Services at Catholic University's Columbus School of Law in Washington, D.C. Lynne received her J.D. in 1992 and her B.A. in 1985 from The Catholic University of America.

Terri Hartwell Easter

Terri has over 25 years of experience managing all facets of Human Resources including professional and organizational development. In 2007, she started her own consulting practice focused on increasing diversity in private law firms. Through her practice, she assists clients in recruiting attorneys and senior managers, strategic planning, change management and diversity related conflict resolution. Before starting her practice, she was the Chief Operating Officer of a major Washington, DC firm. In addition to working in a legal setting, Terri has work experience from management consulting, banking and in the Carter White House. Throughout her career, she has had responsibility for the development of professionals across disciplines and has been particularly successful in coaching professionals interested in transitioning their careers from one area of specialty to another.
She received graduate training at Harvard and Howard Universities and has a BS in Business Administration from Southeastern University.

Jody Greenspan

Ms. Greenspan has more than twenty years of experience in the areas of legal career counseling, law school administration, career and transition counseling, attorney recruitment and education administration and accreditation consulting. Ms Greenspan served as the Senior Assistant Dean of a national law school for 15 years, served as the Director of Recruitment and Placement at a top tier law school, and was a founding member and Executive Advisory Council member of PSLawNet. Additionally, Ms. Greenspan practiced law at two boutique law firms, specializing in large corporate litigation, arts law, and bankruptcy law. She was also an adjunct law professor and senior lecturer and taught classes at NYU's School for Continuing Education and Illinois and multi-state CLE courses.

Marcia E. Heister is an executive coach, consultant, and former practicing attorney in the private and corporate sector, with 25 years experience in private practice, beginning practice with a national law firm and later serving as general counsel of several public and private companies. Joan Newman is a consultant providing individualized coaching and group training to law firm partners and associates on professional and leadership skills necessary to succeed in the highly competitive legal market. Joan coaches participants in leadership development programs and she is certified as a Master Coach from the Behavioral Coaching Institute. Prior to becoming a consultant, Joan was a senior partner at Thompson Coburn LLP, the largest law firm in St. Louis, where she chaired the Firm's Employee Benefits Practice Group and was a member of the Firm's Management Committee responsible for associate training and development. After practicing law for more than 30 years, she founded her consulting firm, Joan Newman & Associates. Natasha Patel

Prior to joining Shannon and Manch, Natasha Patel served as Interim Dean/Director at Columbia Law School Office of Career Services. During this time, she:
- Designed and presented career related programming involving alumni and professionals.

- Conducted both group and individual resume critiques and mock interviews.
- Advised student groups on career paths and programming.

As part of the City Bar, chair the subcommittee on retention, and conducted interviews for diversity fellowship selection.
A Georgia native, Natasha earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Georgia in Athens. She ventured west for law school, graduating from the University of California, Hastings College of Law. She worked as litigation associate at Morrison and Foerster in the Bay Area and then at Pryor Cashman in New York. She then worked as a staff attorney at Cravath Swine & Moore. Afterward, she earned her Master's degree in Psychology at Columbia, where she focused on both counseling and organizational psychology. She continues to serve as a consultant to Columbia Law School.

Doug Richardson

Following his early legal career as a large firm litigator and federal prosecutor, over the next 35 years Doug Richardson built a strong national reputation in outplacement, career consulting/development and vocational assessment. Doug was one of the founding Principals of Manchester, Inc., which became the second largest career management firm in the US, and he later served as Director of Key Executive Services for Right Management Consultants, working exclusively with C-level executives and lawyers.
Doug is known for his particular expertise in leadership development and career management with lawyers. For over 20 years he was an award-winning columnist for Dow Jones' National Business Employment Weekly and its online successor, Career Journal. Prior to Axiom, she served as an Assistant General Counsel for a public technology company and was a corporate and securities lawyer in New York at two large firms.
She received her law degree from the University of Pennsylvania and her undergraduate degree from Vassar College. She also received an MS in Journalism from Northwestern University's Medill School.
