Pre-Merger Services

  • Providing expert consultation and support at every stage of the decision-making process
  • Assisting firms in identifying appropriate merger candidates
  • Determining potential benefits/disadvantages among potential candidates
  • Assessing cultural matches/mismatches
  • Predicting the impact on firm recruiting, professional development, and retention efforts
  • Conducting interviews, focus groups, and surveys once a potential merger candidate has been found to ensure that important information is in the hands of those planning for integration

Post-Merger Services

  • Assessing the effectiveness of the lawyer personnel management systems of both entities and recommending policies that will meet the needs of the new combined entity
  • Providing one-on-one coaching for leaders assuming new roles and for lawyers relinquishing long held responsibilities to assist them in redefining their roles and responsibilities and setting new goals.
  • Providing expert advice to management teams charged with key transition responsibilities, such as facilitating organizational integration of lawyer personnel management systems, designing and implementing new lawyer personnel management systems, integrating cultures and managing conflicts, and evaluating staffing and/or termination decisions
